The 2026 World Cup runs across June and July 2026, co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico over 16 host cities. It is the first time the tournament has been shared by three countries, and the first played with 48 teams instead of 32, which stretches it to 104 matches. With games spread across North American time zones, the kickoff time you see matters: GoalTrack shows each one in your own zone so you know when to tune in.
The 48 teams are split into 12 groups of four. Inside each group, every team plays the other three once. The top two from each group go through automatically, and the eight best third-placed teams across all groups join them, which is what makes the final round of group games so tense, because a third-place finish might still be enough. When teams finish level on points, it comes down to goal difference, then goals scored, so a late goal in a game that looks settled can still decide who advances.
Once the groups are settled, 32 teams enter a single-elimination bracket: round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final. Lose once and you are out. GoalTrack lays the bracket out so you can see each tie, who advances, and the path your team would take to the final.
Star the nation you are backing and GoalTrack pins it to the top of your feed: its next kickoff, the group table it sits in, and the result the moment the whistle goes. Once the knockout rounds begin, you can trace the side of the bracket it would travel through to reach the final, so you always know who stands between your team and the next round. Following more than one country works the same way, with each one surfaced as its games come around.
Star the teams you are following, then turn on goal, kickoff and full-time alerts in settings. Because the alerts are generated on your device, you stay in control of which ones you receive. Keep goals only, or add kickoff reminders so you never miss the start.
